On Friday 31st January Feast of Don Bosco – We celebrated the feast of St. John Bosco as also Beatitudes Day. We had a special Mass at 9.30 a.m. The Catholic students, teachers of both the schools, domestic staff, Wheat and Jute staff and others participated in the Eucharist. The Eucharist was presided over by Fr. Joe Andrew. Fr. Thomas preached the sermon.
In the evening we had a mega cultural programme to celebrate Don Bosco’s feast Day and Beatitudes Day. All the sectors in Don Bosco Beatitudes Centre was involved in the sound and light programme on the life of St. John Bosco. All the sectors took part with great enthusiasm. The programme was held in Mantovani hall at 6.00 p.m. and it began with a prayer song by the Staff of Wheat and Jute (and Self-Help groups). This was followed by a talk by Fr. Thomas on Don Bosco. Fr. Joe Andrew introduced the chief guests of the day – Mrs. Alba, Mr. Adriano Borzi and Mr. Rocco. Fr. Joe Andrew then introduced the sound and light programme on Don Bosco and how all the sectors are coming together to perform. It was a recorded programme. The first dance was by the Savio boarding children and our crèche children. This was followed by the DB primary School on the dream at the age of 9; followed by a dance by our Nirmala home boarders; then there was a song by our Youth Centre boys; followed by a scene in heaven by our higher secondary school. This was followed by a dance by our parish Catechism children and the final dance by our junior boarders and evening study Centres’ children. It was a good show. All the sectors performed so well. After the programme packed dinner was distributed to more than 1300 people.
